Dr Fritz Wolfart opened his own hospital in 1956 when he was 45 years of age. He had completed his medical training in Berlin under the famous Prof. Schulze, where he specialised in surgery; he became senior physician there, moved to Munich and became 1st senior physician and temporary head of the largest surgical department in Munich at that time, at the hospital, Sanitätsrat Gilmer.
In 1943, due to infringement of the Nuremberg Race Laws of the Nazis, he was transferred to the country for disciplinary reasons and employed as a relief doctor treating members of medical insurance schemes. After the war he returned to Munich and worked simultaneously at three different hospitals until he opened his Wolfart Hospital .
Today the Wolfart Hospital is run by Florian Wolfart, the son of the founder. It is integrated in the hospital planning of the Free State of Bavaria and since 2001 it has been certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001:2000.
